Let’s go back in time, to the stone age. Somewhere in the Savanna of Africa, a family of a man, a woman, and their infant child were in search of food and water and were wandering. The Sun was high on the head. The wind was hot and harsh and it was slapping their bare bodies.

Grasses up to knees and scanty trees were filling the view. Three Zebras were eating the dried-up grass and fallen leaves. At some distance, two giraffes were fighting for somewhat greenish leaves on the top of the tree. Far away a family of five lions were bathing in sunshine.

Words: Changes are needed at ground level too

A “career woman” is only a “woman”; “eve teasing” is “street sexual harassment” and “forcible rape” is simply “rape.”

Supreme Court changed many words / terms used in legal language from stereotypical to non-patriarchal, non-biased, and non-insulting terms. SC has shown that “words” matter. what we say, the choice of our use of words shows our biases and our speaking tone conveys our deep thinking and intentions towards the person before us or the one we are commenting about.

Do not dwell in the past, Do not dream of the future, and Concentrate the mind on the present moment

Shraddha, an intelligent, promising student, always getting 99% in class, was writing her English exam paper, Due to a cold, she did not do well in the exam and this got to her head. She was scared so much that she started thinking she will fail. All her teachers and parents tried to help her but could not. This fear of her became the reason she got failed in her 12th board exams.

We can see here that Shraddha was so much dwelt in her English paper getting ruined, she could not focus on the next papers she was writing and this made her, a child who is scared of colds and exams.

Fundamental Rights and Duties of Every Indian
